I am a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist who graduated with a Masters of Oriental Medicine from Maryland University of Integrative Health (formerly Tai Sophia Institute). I am a nationally certified Diplomat of Acupuncture through the NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine). I am NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) certified as well as CNT (Clean Needle Technique) certified. Before I started my career in Chinese medicine I obtained a Masters in Early Childhood Education and spent three years helping run an integrative medicine clinic in Portland, OR where I was born and raised. Life took me to the east coast for 9 years and I am happy to say that it is good to be back in Portland!

I first became interested in holistic medicine in my early twenties when the chronic eczema I had struggled with since childhood became unmanageable using only Western medicine. From my very first visit with a 5-Element acupuncture practitioner I experienced a remarkable shift within myself and it was a pivotal moment in my healing journey. For the first time I felt listened to and was given new hope that we could uncover the root of what was causing such difficult pathology and ease it back into harmony.  The journey to wellness has been challenging as well as deeply illuminating, It encourages me to stay on a dedicated path of healership and helping others. I draw on this inspiration and love for natural medicine everyday while I am with my patients, remaining in awe of the profound healing that is available to each person.

My formal acupuncture training began at a school that taught the style of acupuncture I am most passionate about, which is 5-Element acupuncture. This style of acupuncture is particularly effective at treating mental and emotional imbalances and is gentle in its needling technique. Since completing my initial schooling and receiving a Masters of Oriental Medicine I have deepened my study of Chinese medicine by learning other styles, therapeutic approaches, needling techniques, and skill sets. I often utilize Chinese herbs, nutritional therapy, lifestyle coaching, and basic manual therapies such as Gua Sha and cupping.

My treatments always start with the philosophy that every person is a distinct and multifaceted being, a blend of unique experiences and characteristics. I craft individual treatments using the approach and technique that I feel is best suited to your condition and the goals you have for treatment.

I have a true passion for learning and I continue to explore other healing modalities, having studied Shamanism, Reiki, Zero Balancing, meditation, breath work, and Chakra energetic work.
